T. Kryachko (Astrotel obs., KSU) and S. Korotkiy (Ka-Dar obs.) аfter the publication Catalina Sky Survey (CSS) in ATel#1772 about discovery possible supernova in NGC 539 confirmed it on CCD images obtained on 2008-10-10.010 UT with the Takahashi FRC-300 (D=300mm, F=2330mm) + CCD Apogee Alta U9000 at Kazan State University Astrotel observatory (Karachay-Cherkessia, Russia, MPCCOD: 114). The new object is located at R.A. = 01h25m23s.04 +/- 0″.1, Decl. = -18d10′20″.8 +/- 0″.1 (equinox 2000.0), which is about 18″.7 east and 30″.7 south of center of the galaxy NGC 539. Nothing is visible at this position on a Palomar Sky Survey (SERC-J Survey) obtained 1980-10-13 14:32 (via the Digitized Sky Survey; limiting mag 21.0). In MPChecker no asteroids. We have measured unfiltred magnitude (with R zero-point) of the supernova 16.44.
Alessandro Dimai (CROSS Program) confirmed possible supernova in NGC 539 on CCD images obtained on 2008-10-10.566UT with RC-telescope 254-mm + CCD at GRAS15 (Moorook, Australia), exp=2×45sec. We have measured unfiltred magnitude (with R zero-point) of the supernova 16.58.
Jeffrey Edmonds confirmed possible supernova in NGC 539 on CCD images obtained on 2008-10-10.694UT with RC-telescope 254-mm + CCD at GRAS15 (Moorook, Australia), exp=120sec. We have measured unfiltred magnitude (with R zero-point) of the supernova 16.54.
